Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 3, 2026

Jurisdiction: State of California, United States of America

Fintel Discovery is a pass-through data aggregator. We do not collect personal information, require login, or retain your queries. This page explains exactly what happens when you use the service.

The short version

Section 1

Who We Are

Fintel Discovery operates an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at https://ai.fin-discovery.com/mcp that exposes public financial regulatory data to AI assistants. The service is operated from Sonoma, CA, USA.

We function exclusively as a pass-through aggregator: we receive a query from your AI client, forward it to the appropriate public government or market data API, and return the response. We do not enrich, store, or monetize the data flowing through the service.

Section 2

What We Do Not Collect

The following data is never collected or stored by Fintel Discovery:

No name, email address, IP address (beyond transient server logs), device identifiers, cookies, session tokens, financial credentials, or personal identifiers of any kind. No login is required, and no account is created when you use the service.

We do not use analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, etc.), advertising networks, or third-party tracking pixels. The website loads fonts and libraries from Google Fonts and Cloudflare CDN — see Section 5 for details on those third parties.

Section 3

Query Data — What Happens to Your Requests

When your AI assistant sends a query to the Fintel Discovery MCP server (for example, looking up a broker by name or pulling a stock price history), the following happens:

1. The MCP server receives the request.
2. It constructs the appropriate API call to a public data source (FINRA, SEC, Yahoo Finance).
3. The response is returned to your AI client.
4. No record of the query — its content, the result, or who made it — is written to a database or retained beyond the life of the HTTP request.

We do not build query histories, user profiles, or behavioral models from MCP traffic. Your queries are not used to train models, sold to data brokers, or shared with any third party beyond the upstream public APIs necessary to fulfil the request.

Section 4

Server & Access Logs

Like all web services, our hosting infrastructure (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure / nginx) generates standard access logs that may include: IP address, request path, HTTP status code, and timestamp. These logs exist for operational purposes — diagnosing errors, detecting abuse, and monitoring uptime.

These logs are not linked to personal identities, are not shared with third parties, and are not retained beyond routine log rotation periods (typically 7–30 days). They are never used for advertising or profiling.

Section 5

Third-Party Data Sources

Fintel Discovery aggregates data from the following public APIs. When you make a query, your request triggers a call to one or more of these services. Their own privacy policies and terms of use govern that interaction.

Source What we query Their privacy policy
FINRA BrokerCheck Individual broker and registered representative data — CRD numbers, registration status, disclosures, firm affiliations. finra.org/privacy-policy
SEC IAPD Registered investment advisor firm data — AUM, Form ADV filings, employee count, state registration. sec.gov/privacy
SEC EDGAR 13F institutional holdings filings — portfolio positions, filing history, fund metadata. sec.gov/privacy
Yahoo Finance Market data — price history, options chains, dividends, and splits for equities and ETFs. legal.yahoo.com/privacy

Fintel Discovery is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FINRA, the SEC, Yahoo Finance, or any government agency. We access only publicly available data through their documented APIs or public endpoints.

Section 6

Third-Party CDN Resources (Website Only)

The Fintel Discovery website (this page and related pages) loads static resources from the following CDNs. These CDNs may log your IP address and browser metadata as part of standard CDN operation. We do not control or access those logs.

Google Fonts — Playfair Display, Inter, JetBrains Mono typefaces.
Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs) — highlight.js syntax highlighting library.
Tailwind CSS CDN — utility CSS framework loaded at runtime.

No tracking cookies are set by these resources in the context of this website. If you prefer to avoid CDN requests, the site functions with fallback system fonts when loaded offline.

Section 7

Cookies

Fintel Discovery does not set first-party cookies. No session cookies, persistent cookies, or tracking cookies are created when you visit the website or use the MCP service.

Third-party CDN providers (Google Fonts, Cloudflare) may set their own cookies as part of their infrastructure. We have no control over those and recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies if this is a concern.

Section 8

Children's Privacy

The Fintel Discovery service is intended for use by adults in professional or development contexts. We do not knowingly collect any information from individuals under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has used this service, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Section 9

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at https://fin-discovery.com/privacy.html with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
